Hatchimals CollEGGtibles are small versions of the original Hatchimals, introduced in 2017 after the initial success of the first release. They are small figures and typically distributed in blind packaging. Similar to the large Hatchimals, CollEGGtibles come in plastic eggs. Unlike the original hatchimals these have a heart on the egg. When heat is applied to most eggs, the heart will change color though some seasons have different hatching methods. The wings of the first 8 CollEGGtibles seasons indicate the rarity of that figure. Most releases feature glittery wings, but certain releases will have gimmicks such as flocking or translucency.

This season was based on the original self hatching mechanism from the electronic pets. The eggs could be either hatched by being fed water through the bottle they came with or partially submerged in water. These hatchimals like shimmer babies were meant to look like babies. Rarity and wing system

in season 1 the rarity system was introduced there were four different rarities

  • common (silver wings)
  • rare (pink wings)
  • ultra rare (purple wings)
  • limited edition (cyan wings)

each hatchimal family had a mix of common rare and ultra rare hatchimals the only exception being the cloud cove family which was the designated limited edition family. this season also set the norm of limited edition hatchimals being flocked which is a staple that would be used for many of the other seasons.

in season 2 the rarity system was kept the same with magic meadow being the designated limited edition family. however a hatchimal that did not follow the original four rarities was introduced that being the golden lynx. a limited number of golden lynxes were made and they all had the legendary rarity.

  • legendary (gold wings)

in Hatch friends forever the original four rarities were kept however twin hatchimals were introduced all of which were rare which makes this the first season to introduce a gimick limited to a specific rarity

returned to the standard set by season 1 with no changes made to the system. also added special and extra special

  • special (white wings)
  • extra special (sugar pink wings)

Mermal magic brought back twins which are still limited to being rare. season 5 was also the first season to have a limited edition gimmick other than flocking. instead of flocking the hatchimals had diving helmets. this is most likely due to the fact season 5 is themed around water play and flocking is easily water damaged. it added 2 new rarities: precious and treasure trio

  • treasure trio (indigo wings)
  • precious (coral wings)

Royal hatch made some major changes to the rarity system. rares were replaced with a new rarity called "royal rares" which have blue wings but pretty much serve the same purpose as the old rares. all the hatchimal families in season 6 are tied to a specific rarity instead of just the limited editions. Each family also has its own gimmick instead of just the special/limited edition. they are as follows:

  • royals (common)
  • royal treasures (common)
  • royal mermals (royal rare)
  • princess pairs (ultra rare)
  • glitter salon (limited edition)

These were the second season to introduce a non flocking gimmick for the limited editions that being they have brushable hair attached to their crowns.

shortly after Royal hatch was launched Royal snowball was added. this season kept the royal rares from season 6 and pretty much used the same system

  • frosty friends (common)
  • royal treasures (common)
  • polar royals (royal rare)
  • snowflake squad (ultra rare)
  • cozy crest (limited edition)

This season reintroduced flocking for the limited editions.

Pet obsessed was a sort of return to the original format for the rarity system as the four rarity levels now including limited edition were mixed between families again each rarity had its own gimmick in this season

  • common (regular solid hatchimal no gimmick)
  • rare (glitter)
  • ultra rare (translucent)
  • limited edition (flocked)

Cosmic candy like Pet obsessed had the original season 1 rarity system with no new rarities introduced. Lunar lollypop, bubblegum black hole and sweet stargazers are common only. candy cosmos and gummy galaxy are rare only, sprinkle sun is ultra rare only. treat trios are limited edition only. The rest of the families are mixed between rare and common hatchimals. season 8 was the first season to have non limited edition hatchimals with flocking. Each rarity in season 8 has a few different gimmicks that are exclusive to it accept for the limited edition and ultra rares that only have one gimmick each. they are as follows:

  • common: glow in the dark, neon (regular solid color), patterned, clear, iridescent, or comes with a sticker
  • rare: gummy (squishy), fuzzy, glittery, or helmet
  • ultra rare: sprinkle
  • limited edition: connectable

After Wilder wings, rarities were no longer indicated by the wings. season 9 introduced interchangeable wings which had a bunch of different gimmicks so there are no longer designated wing colors for rarities. season 9 rarities can only be identified using the checklist. like in season 2 this season also had a sort of "ultimate rarest, true legendary hatchimal" in the form of wildest pandor. This hatchimal was not as rare as the golden lynx though as it had a 1 in 100 egg chance instead of being released in a limited number.

in Shimmer babies the standard glitter wings were brought back for all hatchimals accept the darling dashers. however the rarities can still only be identified from the checklist as they opted to instead have the wing colors indicate birth month instead of rarity.

in families and rainbow-cation, there were only 3 rarities. limited edition is nowhere to be found in this season forward. each rarity had it's own gimmick

for families:

  • common: solid
  • rare: glitter-filled
  • super rare: iridescent

for rainbow-cation:

  • common: solid
  • rare: fluttery wings and iridescent
  • super rare: translucent glitter

Hatchimals alive! uses the same 3 rarities as families and rainbow-cation. this season also has gimmicks for each rarity

  • common: solid
  • rare: iridescent
  • super rare: confetti filled

rainbow splash removed the super rare rarity, leaving only common and rare.

Family system

In season 1 there were nine regular families introduced. You could tell what family an egg is from by the colored speckles on the egg. they are as follows:

  • Garden: pink speckles
  • Meadow: magenta speckles
  • Forest: green speckles
  • Savannah: yellow speckles
  • River: light blue speckles
  • Farm: red speckles
  • Jungle: purple speckles
  • Ocean: dark blue speckles
  • Desert: orange speckles

There were also four special edition families that each had their own gimmick. Lilac lake hatchimals were all purple. Giggle grove hatchimals were in laughing poses. Polar paradise hatchimals had a blue and white color palette and were translucent. Cloud cove hatchimals were in flying poses and had flocking. the secret hangout was glittering garden, where hatchimals were semi-transparent and glitter-filled. Glittering garden hatchimals were not shown on the checklist and could only be obtained in the two pack egg carton.

  • Lilac lake: lilac speckles
  • Giggle grove: dark green speckles
  • Polar paradise: white speckles
  • Cloud cove: cyan speckles (warning easily confused with river)
  • littering garden: pink speckles with glitter

Each family had a mix of common, rare and ultra rare hatchimals except for cloud cove which was all limited edition

In season 2, all of the regular families returned with the same egg speckle colors except for meadow which was rebranded as magical meadow and was now considered one of the special edition families. This season had only three special edition families. Crystal canyon which were translucent. Snowflake shire which were ice blue and shimmery and magical meadow which were the limited edition family for this season. Like cloud cove magical meadow hatchimals were also flocked. The secret hangout was citrus coast, where hatchimals had glittery bellies and citrus inspired colors. Like glittering garden from the previous season citrus coast was not shown on the checklist and could only be obtained in the egg carton two pack.

  • Crystal canyon: indigo (easily confused with ocean)
  • Snowflake shire: white
  • Magical meadow: magenta
  • citrus coast: neon yellow

In hatch friends forever, eggs kept the previous families and meadow returned to being a common hangout. This season had 3 special hangouts: petal path which are shimmery, breezy beach which are transparent, and shimmering sands, which are flocked. The secret two pack exclusive hangout was rhythm rainbow, which had bright colors and an ombre effect.

  • Petal path: hot pink
  • Breezy beach: tan
  • Shimmering sands: baby blue
  • Rhythm rainbow: dark blue

In hatch bright, speckles were still present. This season has 4 special hangouts that resemble the 4 main parts of illuma island: starlight shores which have metallic stars, boomin bluffs which are glitter-filled, radient reef which have glowing rafts, and midnight masquerade which are flocked and transparent. The two pack egg carton exclusive secret hangout was the unikeets of crystal canyon, which have sparkly white horns. This would be the last season to use the speckled eggs.

  • Starlight shores: golden yellow (often confused with desert)
  • Boomin bluffs: light green (often confused with forest)
  • Radiant reef: teal speckles
  • Midnight masquerade: lavender speckles
  • Unikeets: purple swirly eggs OR indigo speckled eggs

In mermal magic, eggs no longer had speckles and had brand new molds corresponding to each hangout. and shell colors that represent different families. Also this is the first season to not use any of the original families from the previous seasons. There are 6 hangouts: mermal ocean which is underwater friends, mermals, and mermal twins combined, sunshine surf which were glittery and had a seperate surfboard that can be attached through a peg at the bottom of the hatchimal, mischief marsh which were iridescent, racing river which were transparent, blissful bay which had diving helmets and were glitter-filled, and sapphire springs which were shimmery and had a one-time reveal jewel. Sapphire springs was exclusive to the shell six pack.

  • Mermal ocean: blue shell
  • Sunshine surf: teal shell
  • Mischief marsh: yellow shell
  • Racing river: purple shell
  • Blissful bay: pink shell
  • Saphire springs: tan shell

In royal hatch, eggs got another set of new molds this time crystal themed. The families in this season are royals which are either solid with an ombre effect or shimmery. Each royal came with a gold crown which could be removed and changed between hatchimals. Royal treasures were glittery and came with a gift box accessory. Royal mermals were transparent mermals that came with a silver crown that could be swapped like the royal crowns. Princess pairs were twins with crowns. Glitter salon were iridescent and came with a gold crown with hair coming out of it as well as a brush accessory.

  • Royals and royal treasures: pink crystal
  • Royal mermals: purple crystal
  • Princess pairs: magenta crystal
  • Glitter salon: cyan crystal

Royal snowball utilized the same egg molds as royal hatch. In addition there were also eggs with printed patterns on them which used the old egg molds from season 1-4. The families in this season are frosty friends which are translucent with glitter and came with an accessory or two, royal treasures which are golden and glittery with a gem, polar royals which are a shimmery ombre with platinum crowns, snowflake squad which are glitter filled with a glittery snowflake, and cozy crest which have fuzzy coats.

  • Frosty friends and royal treasures: teal crystal or patterned egg
  • Polar royals: light blue crystals
  • Snowflake squad: fuchsia crystal
  • Cozy crest: light pink crystal

In pet obsessed, eggs represented hatchimal rarities instead of families. the families are as follows

  • Wild duos
  • Fantasy friends
  • Heartland hunnies
  • Forest friends
  • Kitten smitten
  • Puppy love
  • Tiny pals

In Cosmic candy, eggs had a peel-and-reveal heart with a pattern that represented the family the figure is in. the families are marshmallow moon, peppermint planet, secret snacks, bubblegum black hole, vanilla vortex, sprinkle sun, gummy galaxy, nutty nebula, cinnamon cloud, sweet stargazers, cotton candy comet, lunar lollipop, treat trios, chilly constellation, candy cosmos, and secret snacks

  • Marshmallows: marshmallow moon
  • Mints: peppermint planet
  • Gumballs: bubblegum black hole
  • Assorted treats: sprinkle sun
  • Donuts: vanilla vortex
  • Gummy bears: gummy galaxy
  • Cotton candy: cotton candy comet
  • Chocolate bars: nutty nebula
  • Cinnamon rolls: cinnamon cloud
  • Lollipops: lunar lollipop
  • Pink egg: mystery family

In wilder wings there were multiple egg variations, but they really don't mean anything. the wings on the back of the egg tells you exactly who you will get. The families are as follows:

  • Angel wings
  • Bat wings
  • Arrow wings
  • Spiky wings
  • Butterfly wings
  • Cloud wings
  • Swirl wings (egg carton exclusive)
  • Split wings
  • Flower wings
  • Dragonfly wings

In Shimmer babies, egg colors mean nothing except for one. The families in this series are: singing sweeties, tiny tappers, crib crawlers, sassy softies, budding blossoms, bib bedazzlers who have a crystal accessory, splish splash soothers who are glitter-filled, darling dashers who have wild wings, pretty pixies that have glittery hair, twin tots who come in pairs, and night-night nappers who are flocked

  • Teal egg: darling dashers
  • Pink, purple, or patterned egg: everything else

In families, each family was focused on a specific species as well as a hobby or job they do as a family. Egg colors mean nothing in this season, but the wings do indicate what family the figure is part of. The families for this season are as follows:

  • Unicorn hair stylists (light pink wings)
  • Raccoon photographers (magenta wings)
  • Cat dancers (yellow wings)
  • Lion artists (pink wings)
  • Fox pageant stars (blue wings)
  • Bunny bakers (cyan wings)
  • Dog pilots (coral wings)
  • Bat musicians (purple wings)

Rainbowcation uses the same format as families. Cat dancers, unicorn hair stylists and dog pilots returned from the previous season alongside some new families. the families in this season are:

  • Wolf bikers (lime wings)
  • Cat dancers (blue wings)
  • Dog pilots (silver wings)
  • Unicorn hair stylists (teal wings)
  • Koala campers (pink wings)
  • Luau leopards (cyan wings)
  • Llama florists (green wings)
  • Ice skating penguins (fluttery wings)
  • Sparkling poodles (platinum wings)

After rainbowcation the family system was phased out. CLICK HERE FOR HATCHIMALS ALIVE! EGG COLORS

Pack types

Hatchtopia

Season 1

Five different pack types were introduced.

  • One pack (Comes in a blind bag with no checklist for some reason)
  • Two pack (eggs are visible in packaging also comes with a solid pink nest)
  • Four pack (Same style of packaging as two pack comes with a bonus out of egg hatchimal)
  • Twelve pack egg carton (The carton for season 1 is pink. two hatchimals come out of egg one of which is a rare pink or purple flamingoose which is exclusive to the twelve pack)
  • Two pack egg carton (Only has exclusive glittering garden family)

There is also a bonus pack egg carton for season 1 that is purple instead of pink and has a purple two pack egg carton attached to it that contains a sneak peak of season 2, as well as a 6 pack that guarantees all of polar paradise. these are very hard to come by unopened

Season 2

In season 2 the packaging style is pretty much the same just with season 2 branding. The egg cartons for this season are blue instead of pink and the flamingoose are different colors and common . The two pack egg carton for this season contains the citrus coast family. This season also has a twelve pack egg carton with bonus. This time the egg carton is pink and the attached two pack is teal. It is labeled as "exclusive carton colors". I'm not sure what's in the bonus two pack because it just says limited edition and I can't find any pictures of it opened. I was also able to find a picture of an all blue bonus egg carton. this one might be rarer than the other one because I only found one image. I don't know what's in that one either but if I had to guess its just a regular egg carton and a citrus coast egg carton packaged together. a golden 6-pack carton for those who found the golden lynx was also released. owlicorns, bearakeets, and burtles were all sold separately. There was a special set called the star unboxing set that was intended for youtubers to open. The star unboxing set comes with one egg carton, one single pack, five two packs, and an exclusive snack squad rhooby.

Hatch friends forever (season 3)

This season had the same types of packs as the previous seasons but with no weird bonus egg cartons. The egg cartons in this season were baby blue. The flamingoose in the egg cartons were replaced with 4 newtnat variations: green, red, purple eyed, and green eyed. The two pack family for this season was rhythm rainbow. The nest in the two pack was replaced with a light green nest that had a different mold. This season also had the hatchy suitcase pack which came with 30 hatchimals 6 of which were exclusive platinum edition ones. It also comes with stickers.

Hatch bright (season 4)

This season kept all the standard pack types. The blind bags used for the one packs were replaced with boxes that were meant to be miniature versions of the boxes for the original hatchimals. The twelve packs for this season came In glittery purple egg cartons with exclusive swanlings. The two pack egg carton was themed around the unikeet species instead of a location. The two pack egg carton used a special cloud mold. The eggs in the two pack used a special unicorn horn shaped mold. The eggs in the two pack are purple and glossy but there is an alternate version that has the regular season 4 egg colors. The nest for the two pack was yellow and translucent and like the season 3 one also had a new mold. There was a new set called the ultimate hatch that was basically the season 4 version of the star unboxing set. It came with six five packs. Another similar set was the ultra unboxing set (The name is similar but Its a different set). This set came with 24 hatchimals, stickers, and a hatchtopia life code. Hatchtopia life was released a year after hatch bright so this set is a year newer than the rest of the season.

Mermal magic (season 5)

This season was the first to not have a two pack egg carton. the two pack egg carton would not be brought back after this season. The regular two pack comes with a translucent blue nest that uses another new mold. The twelve pack egg carton for this season was translucent ocean blue and came with exclusive clownfish hatchimals. The six pack shell was introduced. they come in either a pink or blue variant and contained the exclusive sapphire springs family with twelve total to collect.

Royal hatch (season 6)

The royal hatch kept all the standard pack types from season 5 minus the six pack shells. The one packs now come inside plastic easter egg type things that hold the crackable egg inside but some releases for other countries still use the box for the one pack. The two pack now comes with a throne instead of a nest to fit the royal theme. The throne can come in either pink or blue. the 4-pack now contains 3 eggs and one bonus. The twelve pack egg carton now uses a completely different mold. The egg carton is gem shaped and the bottom part where the hatchimals go can be removed to store accessories underneath. The egg carton is pink and comes with exclusive mer pandor hatchimals with a molded on crown.

Royal snowball (season 6.5)

Season 6.5 had pretty much the same pack types as season six. The egg carton in this season is teal or cyan and comes with exclusive fluffy kittycan hatchimals.
